There is always that one person who packs for a three-day trip as if they are preparing for a month-long expedition. Extra clothes, backup shoes, medicines for every possible ailment, snacks they may never eat and enough “just in case” items to handle several imaginary emergencies. It may look like overpacking, but psychology suggests there can be something deeper behind the habit.
