Vijay Sethupathi recalled wishing Jason Sanjay on his birthday and being surprised when Vijay personally called him in response.“I wished Sanjay on his birthday. He called me and said, ‘Friend, thank you so much. He was very happy.’ I didn’t expect that because he’s a big superstar, and I was surprised that Sanjay liked me,” he said.Sethupathi also recalled visiting the sets of ‘Jana Nayagan’ and described Vijay affectionately as a “cute fellow”.“I told him, ‘Hey, how lucky you are to have such a big star in your house?’” he said.He further recalled Jason Sanjay sending him a hug through actor Rohan, saying, “Tell him I sent him a hug.”The actor’s warm comments about Vijay came after he faced criticism and trolling on social media over remarks made during ‘Bigg Boss Tamil’. I recently acted in Jailer 2. It’s just one scene, a small shot, a conversation sequence,” he said.Sethupathi explained that Rajinikanth was handling vethalai, pakku and krambu during the scene while simultaneously delivering his dialogue. According to the actor, the process allowed Rajinikanth to naturally understand the timing of the conversation rather than relying on a conventional rehearsal.

Describing Rajinikanth’s effortless approach to the scene, Sethupathi said the actor did not need a traditional rehearsal to find his rhythm.“Nelson kept vethalai, pakku and krambu for his experience. He doesn’t need any rehearsal, but he put the krambu, folded the vethalai and was doing all of that while having the conversation with me to see if the timing works,” he said.The experience also reinforced Sethupathi’s admiration for Rajinikanth as an actor.“My only dying wish is to be a dedicated actor like him,” he said.Vijay Sethupathi also praised director Atlee for being selective about his projects.
