The Los Angeles Times reported that in late 2017, rapper Big Sean, whose real name is Sean Anderson, purchased a 10,000-square-foot Mediterranean-style estate in the exclusive gated community of Mulholland Estates from Guns N’ Roses lead guitarist Slash for USD 8.7 million. Slash had originally bought the house in 2009. At the time, he had spent USD 7.3 million, though he later listed it in 2015 for USD 11 million. After a major drop in price, Big Sean acquired it in November 2017.

Realtor.com reported that when Slash lived there, his design of choice featured dark tones, heavy custom cabinetry, skull-and-snake wallpaper, pirate-ship-themed light fixtures, and a living room stripper pole. However, once Big Sean acquired the property, he executed a major renovation that replaced the dark aesthetic with crisp white walls, light hardwoods, modern finishes, and serene natural light. The kitchen was remade with gray and white finishes and stainless steel, while he opted to keep its dual-island layout intact. The home also included a 13-seat custom movie theater, a private recording studio, and a lower-level nightclub space. Other than that, the property also features a spacious layout with 7 bedrooms and 7.5 bathrooms, along with a resort-style pool, personal spa, outdoor kitchen, volleyball court, and panoramic canyon views. The rooms also feature their own mini bars, while the space also has a private library as well.
