Dating has changed a lot in just one generation. Things that once felt like a normal part of meeting someone, figuring out where a relationship was going, or even showing interest can now feel strangely exhausting.
Gen Z seems far less willing to play along with some of those old dating rules. They are more likely to ask what something actually means, say what they want early, and walk away when a situation starts feeling confusing.
That does not mean every Gen Z dater has dating figured out. Far from it. But there is a noticeable shift in what many younger people are willing to tolerate. And some of these habits may sound very familiar to millennials who spent their 20s navigating dating without a manual.
