BWF World Championships 2026 Live Updates: India’s top-ranked men’s doubles pair, Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty, have advanced to the Round of 16 of the ongoing BWF World Championships 2026 after Scotland’s Alexander Dunn and Adam Pringle conceded their match ahead of their scheduled tie on Wednesday.

Notably, the fifth-seeded Indian pair were set to start their BWF Worlds campaign after having received a first-round bye but the Scottish opponents pulled out of the scheduled contest.

In a social media post, the Badminton Association of India (BAI) said, “The Indian pair are through to the BWF World Championships 2026 pre-quarters after receiving a walkover.”

Harshita Amsakarunan and MR Arjun take on South Korea’s Kang Min-hyuk and Ki Dong-ju in another men’s doubles Round of 32 encounter.

An Indian mixed doubles pair is also in action, with 15th seeds Dhruv Kapila and Tanisha Crasto facing Macau’s Leong Iok Chong and Ng Weng Chi. The Indian duo received a bye in the opening round and will now begin their campaign.

In another men’s singles clash, Anmol Kharb takes on Sri Lanka’s D. Abeywickrama in the Round of 32.

India comes into Day 3 with momentum after Sen, Treesa Jolly-Gayatri Gopichand and Hooda registered wins on Day 2. However, Kavipriya Selvam-Simran Singhi and two mixed doubles combinations have already exited the competition.

With several key players now entering the knockout rounds, Day 3 could prove decisive for India’s hopes of mounting a strong challenge at the championships.
