'I know JD Vance, his eyeliner...': Angie Nixon fires back after VP says she doesn't belong in America
JD Vance says Angie Nixon does not belong in US, Nixon claps back.

Florida Senate race got heated after Vice President JD Vance exchanged barbs with Angie Nixon, the Democratic candidate for the November 3, 2026 election. Vance headlined a high-octane campaign rally for Senator Ashley Moody, who was appointed as the senator in January 2025 to succeed Marco Rubio. “It’s almost too easy to make fun of her,” Vance said at the rally in Lakeland. “What I love about Florida is that you have so many people who came to Florida , legally of course, from Latin America. People who know that socialism kills…when Angie Nixon calls herself a socialist, I think the right response is to say: ‘Then get the hell out of here. You don’t belong in America if those are your view,” Vance said.Vance also pointed out that Nixon is a self-professed socialist who somehow owns two homes.Nixon was born and raised in Jacksonville. She has represented the city’s Moncrief neighborhood in the Florida House since 2020 and describes herself as a union organizer and a mother.Angie Nixon reacted to Vance’s provocation and issued her statement on social media. Calling Vance “the most ordinary man imaginable”, she condemned how Vance came to her home tate and told her to get out of America.“I don’t wanna COUCH my words here: I know JD Vance, his eyeliner, and absent Ashley Moody are used to running away from people when things get tough because they care more about themselves and their billionaire buddies than the people they represent. But this is my home,” Nixon wrote.“The most ordinary man imaginable came to my home state to tell me to ‘get out of America’ while they enjoyed the comfort of buildings my ancestors built. Imagine standing on the shoulders of the ppl who built this country & then telling their descendants they don’t belong here.”“Wanting lower property insurance & healthcare for families isn’t un-American; it’s what working people deserve. They can take their tech-bro cash and their weird, intrusive agenda somewhere else, because I’m not going any damn place. I don’t go high when they go low. I get LOUD. Because the soul and humanity of this country are at stake,” Nixon added.
