Bollywood star Ranbir Kapoor is officially on his way to attend San Diego Comic-Con (SDCC) 2026.The actor and lead star of the upcoming Indian epic ‘Ramayana‘, was spotted in the early hours of Wednesday morning, arriving at the Mumbai airport to catch his flight to the United States ahead of the global launch of the Nitesh Tiwari directorial.The actor, who plays Lord Ram in the ambitious mythological epic, is set to mark his presence at one of the world’s biggest pop culture events alongside co-star Yash, director Nitesh Tiwari and producer Namit Malhotra.
Ranbir Kapoor heads to Comic-Con
Videos and photographs circulating on social media showed Ranbir arriving at the airport in a casual outfit as he prepared to fly to the US. On his arrival at the airport, the actor expressed his surprise on spotting the paparazzi there. “Itni raat bhai” he said as he made his way to the security check.The actor’s US trip marks the next phase of the film’s ambitious international promotional campaign after first releasing the clip in India on July 18 at a grand Pratham Sankalp launch event at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi.
‘Ramayana’ to make Comic-Con debut
The makers have confirmed that ‘Ramayana’ will receive a dedicated presentation at San Diego Comic-Con on July 23 in Ballroom 20, which will reportedly host around 4,800 people.The Comic-Con event is expected to showcase exclusive footage from the film as well as launch the film’s official trailer, before its digital debut onJuly 24.The team’s presence at Comic-Con comes after their successful participation at Cinema Con early this year. The launch event is part of the film’s international marketing strategy, which also includes plans for a showcase at the Toronto International Film Festival later this year.

‘Ramayana’ is touted to be one of the most ambitious Indian films, with a budget of over Rs 4,000 crore.The film stars Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Ram, Yash as Ravana, Sai Pallavi as Sita, Ravie Dubey as Lakshman, Adinath Kothare as Bharat, Nitish Sharma as Shatrughan, Kunal Kapoor as Lord Indra, Shobana as Kaikesi, Chetan Hansraj as Sumali, Anupam Kher as Jatayu, Kajal Aggarwal as Queen Mandodari, Faisal Malik as Kumbhakarna, Mukesh Tiwari as Agastya Muni and Rakul Preet Singh as Surpanakha.‘Ramayana’ will have a 2-part release with the first film set to roll out on Diwali 2026 and Part 2 slated for a Diwali 2027 release. According to unconfirmed reports, the much-talked-about trailer revealed that the film will have its global theatrical release on November 8, 2026.
