Salman Khan calls out paparazzi, says obsession with phone cameras has ruined lives

Salman Khan has spoken out against paparazzi culture on two different shows. In September, he used ‘Bigg Boss’ platform to call out photographers who click actresses inappropriately, warning that strict action would be taken against them. Now, on ‘Koffee With Karan 9’, he raised the issue again, criticising PR-driven celebrity sightings and saying that back-angle shots make women uncomfortable. He also said the obsession with phone cameras has ruined everyone’s lives, and he opened up about the injuries that have affected his fitness.

Salman Khan on PR-driven sightings and phone cameras

The actor said, “Since this PR has come, there are some people who pay the PR for their sighting or whatever that is called. Airport look, etc. There are some who want to do that stuff. I was not speaking about those kinds of people. I was speaking for those people who don’t want it. There are really bad angles, and girls are uncomfortable. Jisne yeh phone banaya hai na, aur phone mein camera lagaya, voh agar kahi mujhe mil gaya na! Hum sabki zindagi barbaad kar di hai” (Whoever invented this phone and put a camera in it, if I ever run into them, I swear! They have ruined all our lives). “This always used to bother me. ‘Guess who?’ From what should be guess?”.

Salman Khan on staying fit at 61 and his shirtless phase

Karan Johar also brought up the moment on ‘Bigg Boss’ when Salman angrily took off his T-shirt after people trolled and commented on how he looked. Asked how he manages to stay fit at 61, Salman said, “A lot of hard work. A lot of sacrifices. I just added a lot of good things to my life and reduced every bad thing. For the people who have been die-hard fans of shirtless me, okay, there was a phase in my life because of a lot of injuries and stuff like that. It was unfair to them. No matter how old you are, it is unfair to them to see me like that. My head was broken; some hernia stuff was there. My shoulder was messed up. And all this came from Sultan. Knee and back, and then trigeminal neuralgia, then the aneurysm. That is not any justification for how I was looking. I should not have let go for that time.”

Salman Khan’s upcoming films

On the work front, Salman Khan’s next big release is ‘Monster’, co-starring Nayanthara, which is slated for Eid 2027. He also has ‘Maatrubhumi’ lined up, but the film is currently stuck because its CBFC certification has been delayed.
